About
Welcome to MicroLit, an online literary magazine. We publish fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and reviews – and on occasion, we devote ourselves to special projects, like our Ukrainian Bulletin and Flowers of Evil. We collaborate with others in an attempt to bring light to what seems like dark times. We believe in the power of the word and we count on our community of writers to address important issues, but we’re also driven by the joys found in imaginative prose and poetry.
We publish reviews of books published by small and independent presses. Please reach out of you’d like to review a book for us: birchbarkediting@gmail.com.
MicroLit accepts submissions twice a year in March and October. We pride ourselves in our quick response time and regular publication schedule. As writers ourselves, we know how frustrating it can be to wait several months before receiving a response to a submission.
Our full submission guidelines can be found on the SUBMIT page.
Mission:
We promote writing as a force for freedom of expression, social change, and creativity. We publish works from a diverse, inclusive community and welcome new and experienced writers who share these values.
