Meet our Staff
Catherine Parnell, Editor-in-Chief. Cat is a writer, editor, educator and the Director of Publicity for Arrowsmith Press. Her publications include the memoir The Kingdom of His Will, as well as stories, essays, and reviews and interviews in Five on the Fifth, LEON Literary Review, Cutleaf, Funicular, Litro, Heavy Feather Review, Mud Season Review, Emerge (ELJ), Orca, , West Trade Review, Tenderly, Cleaver, The Brooklyn Rail, The Rumpus, The Baltimore Review, and other literary magazines.
Angelique Tung, editor. Angelique received her MFA in creative nonfiction from Fairfield University. She works as an associate editor at Brevity, a reader at Pangyrus, and the Editor in Chief at Causeway. She teaches creative writing workshops to 9/11 survivors and first responders. She works with students in crafting brilliant college essays and is pursuing teaching projects that allow her to work with trauma survivors. Her memoir in progress focuses on her experience with breast cancer, body identity, and generational trauma. You can find her work in Lumina Journal, Pangyrus, Beyond Words, and Microlit.
Gretchen Ayoub, editor. Gretchen is a success coach at Massachusetts College of Art and Design and is delighted to join the MicroLit team. She was awarded first place in the Writer's Digest annual competition in the Memoir/Personal Essay category in 2023 and Honorable Mention in the Humor category in 2024. Additionally, Gretchen has published essays for the Boston Book Festival At Home Project, Consequence Magazine (book review) and The Tishman Review. She is currently working on a collection of travel essays focused on healing through grief.
