Join us on Tuesday, September 14 at 7 p.m. EST (4 p.m. PST) for a reading and conversation featuring Doris W. Cheng and Cheryl Pappas. They’ll read from their debut story collections and talk about the incorporation of speculative elements and stylistic choices in crafting their stories. We welcome questions from the audience.
Doris W. Cheng is an immigrant Taiwanese American fiction writer. She is the author of the fiction chapbook Earthling (Word West Press, 2021), and her stories and essays have appeared in New Orleans Review, Witness, Berkeley Fiction Review, The Cincinnati Review, and other literary magazines. Based in New Jersey, she holds an MA in English Literature from Columbia University and teaches creative writing in the New York City area.

Cheryl Pappas is the author of the flash fiction collection The Clarity of Hunger (Word West Press, 2021). Her work has appeared in Hayden’s Ferry Review, Juked, The Chattahoochee Review, SmokeLong Quarterly, and more. She teaches the online Hermit Crab Flash Workshop. She lives just outside Boston.
